He is your friend, your partner,
Your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true,
to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
The first year with your puppy will require a good deal of time and effort
on your part.
A good start pays off with a pet the will be a pleasure to own.
Remember, as a dog owner, you have a responsibility to your neighbours to have a well mannered pet.
SOCIALIZE, SOCIALIZE, SOCIALIZE
This will help your dog to react to new situations with confidence.
Exposure to multiple people, places and things promotes
co-operative friendly behaviour.
Touch your puppy all over it's body every day.
Gently circular motions from head to tail, tummy, ears, and toes.
Open the mouth, check teeth,
Accepting touch will make Vet care and grooming a positive experience.
